We are situated
between the cold South Atlantic
Ocean and the dry Namib
Desert, where the highest sand dunes
in the world are found.
Swakopmund is the premier
resort town on the Namibian Coast,
in South Western Africa, while the harbour town of Walvis
Bay, 30 km to the south, is the gateway through which
Namibia connects to the rest of the world.
About 450 km to the South the closest town is Lüderitz;
to the east is the town of Usakos,
160 km inland; 70 km to the North is the small town of Henties
Bay, and to the west is Rio
de Janeiro across the Atlantic Ocean.
